Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration and food manufacturing environment.
Must have Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA.
Must have EPA Type II Certification.
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test.
Must be able to complete a 24-hour Hazmat class.
Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, utilities, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, subsystems, and auxiliary equipment.
Perform planned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
Operate and maintain spiral freezers.
Perform ammonia system pump-downs for repairs/replacement of refrigeration components.
Conduct daily rounds and inspections of ammonia system temperatures and conditions.
Perform chemical testing on boilers and condenser towers.
Troubleshoot and maintain boiler, hot water, domestic cold water, compressed air, electrical, and electronic systems.
Maintain refrigeration and utility rooms according to established safety and maintenance standards.
Complete work orders, PSM-related documentation, refrigeration records, and operating notes.
Follow all Safety, LOTO, GMP, SOP, and PSM requirements.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager
