Ammonia Technician

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an Ammonia Technician role in Vancouver, WA. Pay: $30 per hour DOE

Key Responsibilities:

· Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and associated equipment.

· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, piping, and related refrigeration equipment.

· Monitor system pressures, temperatures, levels, and operating conditions to ensure safe and efficient refrigeration performance.

· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues affecting ammonia refrigeration systems.

· Perform routine inspections to identify leaks, abnormal operating conditions, equipment wear, and potential safety concerns.

· Respond to refrigeration system alarms, equipment failures, and other maintenance needs to minimize production downtime.

· Assist with system start-ups, shutdowns, adjustments, and repairs as required.

· Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.

· Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions.

· Follow established procedures for the safe handling of ammonia and operation of refrigeration equipment.

· Follow all applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and emergency response protocols.

· Promptly report equipment malfunctions, ammonia leaks, safety concerns, or other operational issues to supervisors.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as an Ammonia Technician, Refrigeration Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or similar role preferred.

· Experience working with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.

· Knowledge of compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, piping, and refrigeration controls.

· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

· Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.

· Understanding of industrial refrigeration safety practices and ammonia handling procedures.

· Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and industrial maintenance environments.

· RETA, CARO, CIRO, or other applicable refrigeration training/certifications are a plus.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

· Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a maintenance team.
