This position is a National Guard Ammunition and Explosive Handler in a Title 32 excepted service bargaining unit, supporting storage, inspection, and shipment of ammunition and explosives.
Responsibilities include performing ammunition inspections, verifying shipments, classifying materials, ensuring safety compliance, handling turn-ins, and assisting with demilitarization. The role involves inspecting ammunition for deterioration, verifying proper storage, and ensuring regulatory adherence for transportation and storage operations.
Additional duties include monitoring operations at firing sites, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining safety standards. The position requires knowledge of ammunition regulations, technical manuals, and the operation of related equipment.
Applicants must meet military membership requirements, obtain security clearance, complete HAZMAT certification, and possess a valid driver’s license. Experience with ammunition inspection, safety standards, and equipment operation is essential.
