Analyst, Category Enablement - Retail Support

As a Category Enablement Analyst - Retail Support Team, you will leverage business tools, systems, processes, and metrics to support efficient inventory management and address store-level inventory exceptions, store life cycle events, and unique customer needs. This role will primarily focus on and be responsible for supporting store projects through inventory analysis, inventory allocation and movement planning, and cross-functional coordination and communication. The analyst will drive project execution by managing inventory-related deliverables, monitoring project milestones, and ensuring timelines and action items are completed in alignment with business objectives.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do

• Support the planning and execution of store projects by managing inventory strategies and demand planning activities across the retail network.
• Analyze, allocate, and monitor inventory to ensure successful execution of store openings, remodels, relocations, closures, and other store lifecycle initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate inventory movement and allocation plans that support project timelines, store readiness, and business objectives.
• Identify and resolve inventory-related issues that may impact store projects, customer sales, or operational execution.
• Serve as a key point of contact for field leadership, providing project updates, guidance, and support throughout the lifecycle of store initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, track inventory-related action items, and maintain adherence to established timelines and execution plans.
• Analyze project outcomes and inventory performance to identify opportunities for process improvements and future project success.

Basic qualifications

• 1 year experience in a retail environment
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic data or information analysis with an eye toward problem solving and drawing conclusions
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1 year communicating with leadership of varying levels and can influence without authority
• 2 years of experience in inventory management, merchandising, demand planning, supply chain, or retail experience.
• 1 year experience performing data analysis in Microsoft Excel
