Job Description The Fund Accounting team is primarily responsible for administering the internal books & records for Waterfall's 20 private funds and approximately 300 SPVs, as well as coordinating the monthly NAV close with the fund administrator. The team is responsible for reviewing complex transactions, tracking capital activity, investor allocations, fee calculations, as-hoc investor reporting, as well as overseeing fund budgets and expense allocations. Following the monthly close, the team is responsible for financial and debt covenant reporting to our counterparties and regulators. On an annual basis, the team oversees the financial statement audit process. Waterfall is looking to add an analyst position in the Fund Accounting team for support across the funds.
Specific job responsibilities include:
Accounting:
Perform final NAV reconciliation between fund administrator and internal records, Independently calculate investor level management/incentive fees and investor level PnL allocations, Review complex new transactions for proper accounting treatment, Monthly tracking of fund-level budgets, expense caps, and accrual substantiation, Monthly preparation of return/performance estimates and investor reporting Coordinate with tax department for booking for current & deferred taxes, Review financial statements prepared by the administrator and year end audits Other (Reporting/Control):
Monthly preparation of internal management reports Preparation of ad hoc investor or marketing related requests Balance sheet and income statement analytics Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices, Management of new entity creations (work with external legal counsel, create new entities in Geneva, and maintain internal records.) Work with technology department on automation, process enhancements and new initiatives Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2-5 years' experience in public accounting serving financial services clients or fund administration CPA License preferred, not required Preferred Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities efficiently Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities Self-starter with good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and drive projects to completion Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 plus discretionary bonus
