A growing private equity firm is seeking an Analyst to join the team. This is a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with significant exposure to C-suite and field-level professionals across the full energy value chain, along with mentorship from Managing Directors with deep sector expertise. The Analyst will play an integral role in supporting Managing Directors and delivering high-quality analytical and presentation work across energy sectors.

Salary + Additional Benefits:
  • $90,000–$100,000

Responsibilities:
Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Build and maintain financial models with comparable company and precedent transaction analyses.
  • Develop commodity price, production, and reserve-based models specific to energy assets and companies.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct industry research and synthesize data from Bloomberg, Wood Mackenzie, EIA, Enverus, and IHS.
Presentation & Communication
  • Prepare client-ready PowerPoint presentations including pitch books, management presentations, and board materials with clear narrative flow and compelling visuals.
  • Design and produce charts, graphs, and data visualizations that translate financial and market data into actionable insights.
  • Draft concise executive summaries, investment highlights, and market commentary using structured bullet-point formats.
  • Coordinate with Managing Directors to refine and finalize deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Support research and consulting mandates across the energy sector.
  • Summarize earnings releases and conference call transcripts for research notes.
  • Monitor and track energy market developments, commodity prices, and sector news on a daily basis.

Requirements:
  • 2–3 years of investment banking experience with a focus on energy
  • Strong Excel modeling skills (DCF, LBO, comps, merger models)
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, including chart/graph design and slide formatting
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Experience in upstream oil & gas, midstream, or power & renewables transactions preferred
  • Familiarity with reserve-based lending, production forecasting, or NAV modeling preferred
  • Exposure to commodity markets (crude oil, natural gas, NGL, power pricing) preferred
  • Experience with data providers such as Wood Mackenzie, Enverus, or IHS Markit preferred
  • CFA candidate or progress toward CFA designation a plus
