Job Description and Duties
Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications to fill at least one (1) Permanent, Full-time Analyst I (Disability Analyst) in the Human Resources - Compensation Unit. The Analyst I is under the direct supervision of the HR Compensation Manager, Supervisor I.
The Analyst I (Disability Analyst) is responsible for processing, monitoring, coordinating, and maintaining employee non-work-related leaves, including but not limited to state disability insurance (SDI/NDI) in coordination with Employment Development Department (EDD), as well as request various pays and processing of SDI/NDI, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and catastrophic leave. Typical tasks include but are not limited to: apply State laws, rules, and regulations, applying and complying with bargaining unit contracts, a variety of personnel/payroll transactions including accurate processing, certifying, and reconciling payroll transactions, and employment transactions. Knowledge and expertise in working with various computer systems such as Word, Excel, Access, State Controllers personnel/payroll systems and transactions such as, NDI, SDI, IDL, CSP, PIMS, PIP, Benefits, CLAS etc. are highly desirable.
The successful candidate must have proficient math, computer, oral & written communication skills, flexible to changing situations, dependable, exercise tact & good judgment, maintain confidentiality, meet & adhere to strict deadlines. The individual may be required to work overtime to ensure completion of assignments & projects.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
Working Conditions:
Physical ability to sit for extended periods, walk/stand for periods up to 30 minutes at a time, lift and carry up to 10 lbs., bend, reach, push, pull, squat, continue keyboarding and using computer mouse for frequent and extended periods, and apply fine hand motor movements as required for holding writing instruments, use of staplers, use of keyboard, and pushing buttons.
