Job Description and Duties
Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
Under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) (SES Sup), the Analyst I evaluates, develops, and executes administrative and analytical duties pertaining to food safety audit scheduling and reporting within the Food Safety Audit Unit (FSAU). The position requires the ability to effectively interact with staff; to work under pressure; to demonstrate interest in assuming responsibility; to use common sense and good judgment; to display loyalty, tact, and discretion; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and to have knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, as well as State and Departmental fiscal systems.

Working Conditions
The duties of this job are performed indoors most of the time. The office is equipped with standard office equipment. Occasional travel to field locations, using public transportation or personal vehicle, may be required.
This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CDFA and based on the current telework policy. While the CDFA supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Department Information
The Mission of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is to safeguard a resilient food system and promote an equitable marketplace, cultivating a California grown food supply that is globally recognized for innovation, quality, and sustainability.
The Inspection and Compliance (I&C) Branch deals with a broad range of environmental, environmental health, and on-farm management issues related to protecting public health. The Branch consists of the following programs: Shipping Point Inspection Program; Produce Safety Program; State Organic Program; Direct Marketing Program; Standardization Program; Avocado Inspection Program; OCal Program; Citrus Program, the Technical Assistance Program for Produce Safety, and the Food Safety Audit Unit. The Branch includes a multi-disciplined staff, including Agriculture Program Supervisors; Environmental Scientists; subject matter specialists; inspectors and investigators; and technical and support staff.

Describe your experience related to scheduling and dispatching staff in operations management. Provide at least one example of relevant experience in scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring workloads of staff including the types of resources utilized to ensure success.
Give an example of a project where you had competing tasks. How did you manage priorities and organize workload while effectively maintaining communication with various internal and external stakeholders?
