Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Supervisor I of the Division Support Office and the Director of the Professional Learning Support Division, and in collaboration with program staff and other staff within the California Department of Education, the Analyst II independently performs technical, programmatic, and analytical support related to contracts, legislation, budgets, and programs supporting state policy and federal mandates under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act.

The Analyst II is responsible for division-wide fiscal operations, including budget monitoring, contract and grant management, and legislative and program analysis. The incumbent works collaboratively with division staff, other Department staff, and external stakeholders to support professional learning activities and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies. The Analyst II also serves as the Division's State Board of Education Coordinator and supports the division's legislative coordination activities.

TELEWORK OPTION

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Ability to analyze, present ideas and information through effective verbal and written communication. Knowledge and understanding of the State's policies and procedures. Knowledge of State budgetary and fiscal processes is beneficial. Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook skills. Excellent attendance and dependability.
