About the role
DESRI seeks a talented and highly motivated analyst to join its Investment & Acquisitions team. The team is responsible for evaluating and executing investments, acquisitions, financings, and other transactions across DESRI’s portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
This role offers the opportunity to build a strong foundation in renewable energy investing by working across the full lifecycle of DESRI’s investments, from initial underwriting and transaction analysis through financing, construction, and operations. You’ll work closely with senior members of the Investment & Acquisitions team and colleagues across DESRI to analyze opportunities, support transaction execution, and inform investment decisions.
What you'll do
You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining financial models and conducting analysis to support management investment decisions, with a focus on modeling project returns, evaluating capital structures, identifying risks and potential upside, and presenting analytical findings in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities may include:
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate project economics, investment returns, financing structures, and transaction alternatives.
- Support financial, commercial, and other due diligence, including coordinating and analyzing third-party deliverables through deal processes.
- Analyze investment opportunities and help identify key risks, potential upside, and value creation opportunities.
- Support transaction leads in the structuring and execution of acquisitions, financings, and opportunistic sales.
- Assist with the negotiation and execution of definitive documentation for debt and tax equity financings.
- Analyze acquisitions and other investment opportunities across new projects and DESRI’s existing portfolio.
- Prepare investment materials and synthesize analytical findings for review by senior team members and management.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors throughout transaction processes.
- Support projects throughout development, construction, financing, and operations as investment and transaction needs arise.
Qualifications
- This role is targeting a start date in Summer/Fall 2027.
- Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and a strong record of academic achievement.
- Relevant internship or professional experience in finance, investing, renewable energy, or a related field is beneficial.
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills, particularly in Excel.
- Exposure to investment analysis, transaction execution, project finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, private equity, renewable energy, or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to identify and clearly communicate key investment considerations, risks, and opportunities.
- Well-developed communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with a small team, strong organizational skills when working across multiple priorities, attention to detail, and a high level of motivation are all vital to this role.
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy projects and/or electricity markets in the United States.
- At DESRI, we consider a wide range of factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The expected annual base salary for this position is $100,000–$120,000.
