Who We Are Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications
Analyst/Programmer 1
Successful completion of nine (9) semester hours of college-level coursework in computer languages or system analysis.
OR
Three months of actual computer programming experience.
OR
One year of work experience using a computer for analysis, including experience in the use of computer reporting languages, spreadsheets, or statistical packages.
Special Note:
An applicant who will complete the required college-level coursework within three (3) months of hire qualifies to apply for this job class. An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon completion of the required college-level coursework and proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.
Analyst/Programmer 2
One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of the experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelors degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience. An associates degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. It may be filled at the 1, 2, 3, or 4 level, depending on the applicants training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at a lower level, promotion to the higher level will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
IF SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW, THE APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:
Educational transcripts if using education to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
Last two (2) performance evaluations. If unavailable, supervisory letters of recommendation can be substituted.
