Summary:

The QC Scientist I / Analytical Chemist is responsible for performing routine analytical testing and documentation activities within the Quality Control Analytical Chemistry Laboratory. This role supports pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by conducting residual active pharmaceutical and detergent analysis using chromatographic and analytical techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of cGMP and laboratory compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine chemical testing of residual swab samples using internally developed methods.
  • Perform validated analytical testing using HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, and TOC techniques.
  • Identify and report out-of-specification (OOS) or unexpected analytical results.
  • Perform daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.
  • Prepare test solutions including mobile phases and diluents.
  • Accurately document testing procedures, analytical results, and laboratory activities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness of work areas.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMP, GLP, and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Support internal development and manufacturing operations through analytical testing.
  • Communicate findings effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Participate in additional assignments and training opportunities as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or related physical science required.
  • 1 2 years of experience performing chemical testing using chromatographic techniques preferred.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of HPLC and Mass Spectrometry required.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and regulations.
  • Basic mathematical and statistical analysis abilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 35 lbs periodically.
  • Frequent use of laboratory equipment and computer systems.
  • PPE required including safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, safety apron, and occasional respirator use.
  • Laboratory environment supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
