    Job Description

Make Precision Possible as an Analytical Instrumentation Field Service Specialist

Picture your week: you start near Dallas, TX, load your tools and laptop, and head to a customer site to bring a sophisticated analyzer back to peak performance. By midweek, you’re in Louisiana installing an upgrade kit and coaching a lab team on best practices. You close out Friday in Arkansas, validating a system to LECO’s ISO standards and documenting your work with care. That’s a typical rhythm in this full-time, remote, salaried role—traveling across the South-Central U.S. with up to four overnight hotel stays Monday through Friday, depending on workload.

    About LECO

For more than 90 years, LECO—based in St. Joseph, Michigan—has pioneered world-class laboratory instruments. As a family-owned company, we value long-term relationships, stability, loyalty, and trust while delivering state-of-the-art solutions nationwide and globally.

    • Keep analytical and metallographic instruments operating at their best through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs.
    • Install new systems and deploy updates and upgrade kits to existing equipment.

    • Carry out all field work in alignment with LECO’s ISO accreditation and documentation practices.

    Your Territory & Schedule

Primary customer base spans Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana, with occasional travel to nearby regions as business needs arise. This is a remote, salaried position with regular travel. The ideal candidate resides near Dallas, TX. A $5,000 signing bonus is included.

    Training & Development

    • Begin with 3–5 months of in-depth instrumentation training at LECO headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan.
    • Partner in the field with experienced LECO service engineers across the country for hands-on learning.
    • Return annually to St. Joseph, Michigan for service training to stay current on technologies and best practices.

    What You’ll Bring

    • Self-motivation and strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Professionalism and strict adherence to customer site rules and safety protocols.
    • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a dynamic travel schedule with up to four overnights per week.
    • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Personal credit card or the ability to obtain one for travel expenses.
    • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with AC and DC electronics—or the drive to learn quickly.
    • Chemistry knowledge or a military background is a plus, not a requirement.

    Education & Experience

    • Two-year technical degree or trade school, or
    • Prior military service with technical training, or
