This position sits with our Swedish Match affiliate.

Your 'day to day'

• • Lead complex analytical investigations, developing and implementing advanced methodologies to enhance in-house analytical capabilities and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Execute detailed analysis of special project samples using a wide range of advanced instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and implement analytical methods to support evolving business and scientific needs.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sophisticated analytical instrumentation, including UHPLC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and GC-MS Headspace systems.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies to expand internal analytical capabilities and support innovative project work.
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Analytical Science while partnering with cross-functional teams across PMIUS to deliver critical analytical insights for special projects.

Who we're looking for:

• PhD in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience as an Analytical Chemist or in a comparable technical role.
• Proven ability to organize, manage, and execute special projects effectively, including training and mentoring others in both fundamental laboratory techniques and advanced instrumentation.
• Strong expertise in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced analytical instrumentation.
• Comprehensive experience in:
• • Analytical and Organic Chemistry
  • Gas Chromatography (GC) and Ion Chromatography (IC)
  • Method development and optimization
  • Microscopy techniques
  • UHPLC-MS/MS and GC-MS systems
  • Experimental design (DOE) and advanced problem-solving methodologies
• Proficient in laboratory and data management software and tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LIMS, Chromeleon, Chemstation, OpenLab CDS, and ECM systems.

Annual Base Salary Range: $104,000 - $130,000
