City of Hope Medical Group is seeking an Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join our team in Duarte.

As Chair of the Department of Pathology at City of Hope, we invite applications for a full-time Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join our clinical faculty at our flagship campus in Duarte, California. We seek a mission-driven, board-certified academic pathologist with expertise in gastrointestinal cancers who will:

• Support growing clinical volumes.
• Contribute to translational research initiatives.

As an academic medical center, City of Hope expects faculty to actively engage in scholarship through research and publication while also fulfilling a required commitment to teaching and mentorship of fellows, residents, and students. Position Highlights

• Clinical responsibilities include diagnostic pathology services to support the clinical care of patients with cancers of the digestive system.
• Join a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists in Southern California.
• Use digital pathology to provide digestive system pathology expertise in the COH national network.
• Develop and support translational and clinical research in gastrointestinal cancers.
• Participate in the training of fellows in our ACGME-accredited programs.

Position Benefits

• Excellent benefits package including a generous retirement contribution plan.

Base Salary Range: $310k to $480k. The listed range applies exclusively to base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted based on experience, training, hospital, community needs, and other factors.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have an MD or equivalent medical degree and possess or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
• Anatomic Pathology and demonstrated multidisciplinary practice experience in the specialty of gastrointestinal pathology are required.
• An academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor is preferred.
• Fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology and experience in the diagnosis of complex gastrointestinal cancers in an academic cancer center is highly preferred.
• Additional subspecialty experience is also desired.
• The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and experience in collaboration with gastrointestinal medical and surgical oncologists and researchers.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence through active teaching, mentorship, and meaningful contributions to scientific advancement and translational research is required.
