About the Position
Harris Health is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Supervisor to lead laboratory operations at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. In this leadership role, you will supervise the daily operations and performance of the Histology, Cytology, Transcription, Morgue, and Frozen Section areas while ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services.
Responsibilities include overseeing technical operations, personnel management, workflow optimization, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. You will also perform bench duties as needed while mentoring staff and supporting continuous process improvement to ensure accurate and timely pathology services.

Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Histotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
- Licensure/Certification:
- ASCP certification as one of the following:
- Histotechnologist (HTL)
- Histotechnician (HT)
- Cytotechnologist (CT)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, or Cytotechnologist
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, including:
- Staff scheduling
- Performance management
- Variance reporting
- Procedure development
- Problem resolution
- Communication Skills:
- Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
- Exceptional verbal communication (public speaking)
- Strong written communication (correspondence and reports)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer applications
