Located in Port Jefferson, the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital combines advanced clinical expertise with a longstanding commitment to compassionate care. The campus has earned both a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade “A” and a CMS 5-Star Quality Rating and is known for its excellence in Maternal/Child Services, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Bariatric Surgery, and Emergency Care.

 

The St. Charles Campus Emergency Department serves more than 25,000 senior, adult, and pediatric emergency room patients each year, ranging from a wide array of medical issues including critical or complex conditions such as heart attack and stroke to simpler yet urgent problems. Our emergency room physicians are board-certified in emergency medicine and expertly trained in treating critical and complex conditions including (but not limited to) stroke, heart attack (chest pain), severe sepsis, COPD, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute renal failure, and complications involving pacemakers.

 

The medical team also includes nurse practitioners and nurses specially trained in emergency and critical care. Medical specialists are called upon as needed and include obstetrics, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics and surgery. Services include 18 beds, 6 private treatment rooms, and 1 specialized orthopedic treatment room, as well as a negative pressure room to isolate patients with communicable illnesses such as the flu; bedside ultrasound when appropriate to speed evaluation and diagnosis; and a state-of-the-art digitized radiography system.

Job Details:

Our Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator (ANCC) will:

  • Assist the Director in delegating and coordinating nursing care activities of all patients on the nursing unit
  • Mentor, supervise, and evaluate the team to reach their full potential and inspire continual professional growth
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.

What you’ll bring:

  • Passion for Emergency Nursing and an interest in growing as a leader in Nursing
  • 1-2+ Years of RN experience working in an Emergency Department
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
