    ACHS Special Education Paraeducator (FMD/ID Classroom)

    Anderson County High School is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Paraeducator to support students in our Functional Mental Disability (FMD) or Intellectual Disability (ID) classroom. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students reach their academic, social, behavioral, and functional goals while working collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and administrators.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide instructional support to students in the FMD/ID classroom under the direction of the classroom teacher.
    • Assist in delivering individual, small-group, and whole-group instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
    • Safely transport and accompany students to co-teach and general education classrooms as outlined in their schedules.
    • Support students with daily living skills, personal care, mobility, and other individual needs as required.
    • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student independence and success.
    • Assist with behavior management strategies and implement accommodations and modifications as directed.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation and communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and school administration.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. This position plays a vital role in helping students achieve success both academically and personally as valued members of the Anderson County High School community.
