Job Title: Android Developer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin, Android development, REST APIs, dynamic/JSON-driven UI frameworks, and modern application architecture. The role focuses on building and maintaining Android features for Home Protection experiences, integrating backend and hardware systems, improving application performance, and resolving complex production and connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain Android features for Home Protection experiences

Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks

Collaborate with product, backend, and device teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Contribute to application architecture, design discussions, and technical decisions

Implement and expand Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and JSON-driven UI frameworks

Integrate RESTful APIs and manage complex client-side application state

Improve application performance, reliability, and overall user experience

Debug and troubleshoot complex production and connectivity issues

Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement

Support hardware/software integration across mobile and connected-device environments

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

4+ years of professional Android development experience

Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin

Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or dynamically generated UI based on backend JSON schemas

Strong experience integrating REST APIs

Experience with state management and complex client-side application logic

Strong understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar design patterns

Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills

Experience working in a collaborative Agile development environment

Strong understanding of modern Android application development
