The Anesthesia Technician provides critical technical and patient care support to anesthesia providers before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of anesthesia services by preparing equipment, monitoring supplies, and assisting with procedures. Working under the direction of anesthesiologists and nursing staff, the technician plays an essential role in maintaining patient safety, infection control, and departmental readiness within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:• Gather needed anesthesia equipment upon request.
• Demonstrate understanding and practice of aseptic technique during patient care tasks.
• Aid operating room staff with patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with patient transport and operating room turnover as needed.
• Set up anesthesia machines, connect to gas/suction lines, and troubleshoot issues.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain anesthesia machines and equipment per infection control protocols and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Conduct comprehensive functional testing of anesthesia equipment to verify operational safety and compliance with manufacturer’s instructions for use.
• Coordinate maintenance or repair requests through Clinical Engineering teams.
• Stock and rotate supplies in anesthesia machines, dispensing cabinets, and satellite locations.
• Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels for anesthesia and OR areas.
• Ensure proper disposal of infectious waste and hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment to support safety and compliance efforts.
