Summary:

Maintains and cleans the anesthesia machines. Prepares the anesthesia machines and supplies needed by the individual anesthesiologists and assists anesthesiologists in the induction of patients. Maintains inventory of required items.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Stocking of the Anesthesia Machine/Carts.
  • Prepares the anesthesia machine based on the age specific needs of the patient.
  • Assists the anesthesiologist.
  • Clean, disinfect and maintain the anesthesia equipment.
  • Collaborates with the Perioperative Management Team in developing and implementing an orientation program for Anesthesia Technicians.
  • Meets with representatives of companies, and orders all equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
  • Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each patient served.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia or Respiratory Tech or other clinician Operating room required.
  • 4 years of experience preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • BLS required
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred
