Animal Care Apprenticeships

Scovill Zoo is hiring for 9-month animal care apprenticeships. The zoo has a diverse animal collection, and each apprentice will typically be trained in three or more keeper areas. These opportunities provide hands-on experience in all aspects of animal care, including observation, feeding, cleaning, enrichment, training, exhibit maintenance, and some medical care. Apprentices gain increasing independence with demonstrated ability. Weekend work and holiday work are required. Flexible starting dates between September and January.
