Assures the re-vaccination of all animals admitted to the facility as needed, and administer medications, either orally, nasally, or by injection, according to the prescribed guidelines
Assures that the Intake Desk is manned during all hous open to the public
Refers questions about non-routine circumstances to the Shelter Manager
Receives payments/donations for services rendered, according to a defined schedule, and balances the cash register to the computer record of transactions daily
Maintains a good working relationship with volunteers at the Shelter
Euthanizes animals is required
Assists other staff in holding animals being administered medication or euthanized, and aids in controlling and moving large or unruly animals
Performs other duties as assigned by Shelter Manager
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to work well with staff, volunteers and customers, especially those surrendering pets for euthanizing
Demonstrate a basic understanding of infection control procedures and safe handling of dogs and cats
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of animal health and behavior issues
Demonstrate ability to enter data into a PC database and retrieve periodic reports from same
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
