    Description

    The Division of Institutional Advancement is currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Annual Giving Manager.

    Examples of Duties

    Develop annual and multi-year strategic plans for the annual giving program including a comprehensive multi-channel solicitation calendar. Provide oversight in the planning and execution of the universitys phone, mail, and direct market giving program including JSU Day of Giving and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising efforts. Maintain a portfolio of leadership annual gift prospects, focusing on donors with capacity of annual gifts of $25,000 and below. Develop, manage and evaluate various constituency programs for young alumni, students, parents, faculty/staff, new donors, small businesses/entrepreneurs and others. Collaborate with Marketing in developing and implementing a communication and branding strategy for annual giving. Work cooperatively with Alumni Relations to coordinate solicitation of the National Alumni Association, Pre-Alumni Council, Classes in Reunion, Affinity Groups and other volunteer committee. Strategize with the Stewardship Office on appropriate gift acknowledgment and recognition for annual donors, including leadership gifts. Develop and execute month-end and year-end reports for internal review and tracking as well as administration and alumni. Execute a minimum of 12 digital and 3 Direct Mail fundraising solicitations. The Annual Giving Manager will develop a portfolio of annual giving donors. Work collaboratively across the university divisions and demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Build success-fill relationships with constituents, co-workers and donors. Understands and abides by a high standard of professional ethics to ensure the integrity of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Typical Qualifications

    As a key member of the Development team, the Annual Giving Manager is responsible for assisting Jackson State University in achieving the following goals:

    1. Manage and promote the annual giving program with particular emphasis on increasing cash gifts.

    2. Increase the Annual Giving donor base and with it, the Alumni Participation Rate (APR).

    3. Monitor the annual and mid-level giving program performance, including new donors, consecutive donors and those that can be upgraded.

    The successful candidate will be an energetic professional with a minimum of four to seven years of fundraising experience, preferably at a higher education institution.

    A bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required. Knowledge of Fundraising platforms preferred. Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings is required. Exceptional organizational and interpersonal abilities, including program management experience. Keen attention to detail. The ability to independently handle multiple and varied tasks. Demonstrated experience conceptualizing, building, and executing statistical and analytical reports. The ability to secure leadership annual gifts.
