Title: School Bus Driver (6.75 hours/day)

APPROXIMATE TIMES: 5:45-9:30AM & 2:15-5:15 PM

Reports to: Transportation supervisor and assistant transportation supervisor

Work Activity Classification: Light

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent

  2. Hold a current Ohio Class B CDL license with School Bus

and Passenger endorsement

  1. Be insurable with not more than four points on the Ohio

driver's license

  1. Complete and pass a T-8 physical yearly

  2. High moral character and good attendance record

  3. Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned

General Description: Provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy

the fullest possible advantage from the district's curricular and

extra-curricular programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Meet all requirements as outlined by the State of Ohio.

  • Know and obey traffic laws and regulations set forth in the Ohio School Bus Operation Regulations manual.

  • Perform PTI prior to beginning route as dictated by Ohio laws.

  • Be the sole operator of the school bus.

  • Attend bus drivers' meetings in the district or county unless excused by administration.

  • Follow all rules set forth by the transportation office and approve by the Cloverleaf Board of Education.

  • Be responsible for fueling bus.

  • Be responsible for keeping his/her bus clean inside.

  • Be responsible for the orderly conduct of riders. Pupils on the bus are under the authority of, and directly responsible to, the driver.

  • Reports serious discipline problems to the transportation supervisor.

  • Deliver bus for servicing and repairs as directed by transportation supervisor and/or head mechanic.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a role model for students and staff in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
  • Help instill in students and staff the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
  • Conduct other related driver's duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor, assistant transportation supervisor, assistant superintendent and local superintendent and as permitted by the negotiated agreement.

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
  • Occasional operation of a school bus under inclement weather conditions.
  • Occasional interaction among unruly children.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the board.
