Anticipated K-12 School Psychologist 26-27 Posted: February 12, 2026
Fairbury Public Schools is seeking an Anticipated School Psychologist to support the academic, social, behavioral, and emotional success of our 900+ PK-12 students. Our mission is to engage and empower students through meaningful relationships and innovative teaching in a progressive, 1:1 technology district.
Essential Responsibilities
• Assessment & Evaluation: Administer and interpret psycho-educational evaluations to determine eligibility for special services under Nebraska Rule 51. • MTSS Leadership: Facilitate problem-solving through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) at district, building, and individual student levels. • IEP/MDT Participation: Lead Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and collaborate with IEP teams to design effective intervention strategies. • Consultation: Serve as a resource for teachers, parents, and administrators regarding child development, mental health, and classroom management. • Direct Support: Provide individual and group counseling for students verified with behavioral or emotional needs.
Qualifications
Certification: Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid Nebraska Department of Education certificate with a K-12 School Psychologist Field Endorsement. Supervised Internship: A minimum of 1,200 clock hours is required. School Setting Requirement: At least 600 of those hours must be completed within a school setting. Supervision: The internship must be supervised by a standard institution of higher education.

Salary & Benefits Competitive Salary: Placement on the district scale with full credit granted for previous experience in accredited schools. Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and retirement. Time Off: 80 hours of PTO. Extras: Coaching and extra-duty opportunities may be available for interested candidates.
