The Parkview School District is looking for a leader ready to be the Business Manager and part of a district with a mission to Inspire, Elevate, and Innovate. In alignment with Parkview's vision of cultivating successful and versatile community members, the District seeks an expert relationship-builder with a demonstrated commitment to fiscal integrity and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership that results in maintaining a stable financial foundation and empowering all departments to collectively serve our students and community. The candidate will achieve this by working in partnership with the District Administrator, the School Board, and staff to align operations with the district''s educational mission. With the main emphasis on financial and operational leadership, the Business Manager is responsible for budget planning, financial reporting, grants, payroll, insurance, human resources, purchasing, food service, transportation, facilities, and transportation. The Parkview School District serves approximately 880 students throughout the District with approximately 130 employees.
The Parkview Business Manager must be a fiscally responsible, collaborative, professional, and strategic leader who demonstrates strong ability in the following performance standards:
- Financial Leadership & Fiscal Integrity: The Business Manager will ensure the financial health of the district. Developing and managing the annual budget, multi-year financial forecasts, accounting, audits, and compliance with DPI, state, and federal requirements are top priorities for success in this position.
- Operational Excellence: The Business Manager will foster the success of all departments by directing the buildings and grounds team, leading capital maintenance and facility projects, and overseeing food service and transportation vendors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Human Resources & Payroll Leadership: Serving as the Human Resources Director, the Business Manager will work directly with administration to provide effective leadership in selecting, supporting, and retaining staff, managing compensation plans, maintaining the Employee Handbook, administering benefits, and ensuring accurate payroll processing.
- Organizational Management: As a key member of the administrative team, the Business Manager will manage district assets, oversee investments and debt management, coordinate purchasing, and administer state and federal grants (including IDEA and Title programs) in a compliant and equitable manner.
- Community & Board Relations: The Business Manager will foster the success of the district by effectively communicating financial matters, serving as financial secretary to the School Board, advising the Board and Superintendent on fiscal decisions, and maintaining transparency with staff and community stakeholders.
- Professionalism: The Business Manager must demonstrate behavior consistent with professional standards, engage in continuous professional learning in school finance and operations, and contribute to a highly collaborative administrative leadership team.
