TITLE OF POSITION Special Education Paraeducator

LOCATION Orleans Elementary School

DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT OF POSITION Full-time position working under the direction of the special education and general teaching professionals to support both inclusive and sub-separate programs for children with mild to severe disabilities and academic and behavioral challenges in small group and/or 1:1 settings. Paraeducator is a member of the inclusion and special needs teams responsible for implementing educational plans. Duties also require support for general building activities, student arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated prior experience providing support services to students.
• Evidence of high education with coursework specific to Special Education preferred.
• Minimum of a high school diploma; college experience preferred, especially in the area of Special Education.
• Must be willing to be trained in Crisis Intervention.

SALARY $24.78 - $27.86 per hour
