JOB TITLE: Anticipated Transportation Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alabama Driver's License
- Valid Alabama School Bus Certification, (preferred) or willingness to obtain
- Experience in passenger transportation routing and/or dispatch (preferred)
- Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Director/Director of Operations
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as receptionist for the transportation facility.
- Answer incoming calls using clear, polite telephone communication skills.
- Take messages and transfer calls to appropriate personnel.
- Provide clerical support in a multi-task work environment requiring the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Prepare memorandums, letters, forms, and other material as assigned.
- Use excellent business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Distribute incoming mail, packages, and other materials.
- Order office supplies as needed.
- Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to job assignment.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Organize and file materials effectively.
- Maintain all staff records in hard copy and digital form.
- Work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Exercise tact, good judgment and initiative in dealing with drivers, transportation staff, school administrators, parents, etc.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Generate requisitions as needed.
- Submit invoices for payment and maintain vendor records.
- Collect and complete all transportation payroll documentation.
- Assist with daily substitute driver assignments.
- Have physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment.
- Maintain proper and professional relationships with students, parents and other employees.
- Be familiar with and follow Talladega City Board of Education policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
