TITLE: Account Specialist for Special Services

BENEFITS: Health, Pension, PTO including sick days, vacation days, and personal days

SALARY: $65,000-$77,000

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business required; accounting or finance preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) required; experience with SYSTEMS 3000 preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Clear criminal history background check required
  • Minimum of three years' experience in accounting or school office environment preferred
  • Flexibility for alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Commission

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Director and Commission's special services department to manage and maintain grants and contracted service agreements
  • Work directly with public and nonpublic schools on budget development, expenditure processing, and tracking allocations, including payroll and reporting
  • Coordinate with the Commission's Business Office to ensure all purchasing complies with state procurement laws
  • Ensure compliance of grants with state and federal regulations
  • Generate required documentation and reports for invoicing public schools
  • Reconcile federal and state nonpublic grants for accurate district billing
  • Oversee reconciliation of invoicing for contracted services
  • Create, monitor, and analyze data in Excel for grants and contracted services
  • Manage purchase orders and monitor budget line items to prevent overages
  • Facilitate communication with nonpublic administrators and MOESC staff
  • Prepare internal reports and data analysis using Excel as required
  • Process travel expenses for the Special Services Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Full-time, twelve months

EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on the evaluation of professional personnel.
