TITLE: Account Specialist for Special Services
BENEFITS: Health, Pension, PTO including sick days, vacation days, and personal days
SALARY: $65,000-$77,000
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business required; accounting or finance preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) required; experience with SYSTEMS 3000 preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Clear criminal history background check required
- Minimum of three years' experience in accounting or school office environment preferred
- Flexibility for alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Commission
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Director and Commission's special services department to manage and maintain grants and contracted service agreements
- Work directly with public and nonpublic schools on budget development, expenditure processing, and tracking allocations, including payroll and reporting
- Coordinate with the Commission's Business Office to ensure all purchasing complies with state procurement laws
- Ensure compliance of grants with state and federal regulations
- Generate required documentation and reports for invoicing public schools
- Reconcile federal and state nonpublic grants for accurate district billing
- Oversee reconciliation of invoicing for contracted services
- Create, monitor, and analyze data in Excel for grants and contracted services
- Manage purchase orders and monitor budget line items to prevent overages
- Facilitate communication with nonpublic administrators and MOESC staff
- Prepare internal reports and data analysis using Excel as required
- Process travel expenses for the Special Services Department
- Perform other duties as assigned
