INTERNAL POSTING Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Anticipated Vaca ncy For the 202 6-2027 School Year Music Teacher Elementary Schools KLSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of Music Teacher at our Elementary School s beginning September 1, 202 6. Location: Elementary Schools Start Date: September 1, 202 6 Hours: Full-time (10 month) Salary & Benefits: $64,276 - $132,000 as per the KLDTA contract Qualifications: NYS Music K -12 Certification Required Responsibilities & Skills: • Develops and actualizes a music program consistent with school district vision, goals, and objectives for students in Grades K -5. • Utilizes repertoire of all types of music, as appropriate. • Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction. • Familiar with all band and /or string related instruments. • Promotes music literacy. • Works collaboratively with members of the Music Department. • Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging. • Infuses culturally relevant practices and content into curriculum design, ensuring that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students. • Uses NYS standards as a foundation for setting clear learning goals and expectations for students, providing a roadmap for their academic progress. • Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice. • Works with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and implement research -based strategies that improve student outcomes.
