Speech/Language Therapist
REQUIREMENTS: New Jersey Speech Language Specialist Certification
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Valid educational services certification or school-based certification as required by the state.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents on the Autism spectrum within the educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Conduct speech-language screenings, assessments, and comprehensive evaluations.
- Interpret evaluation results and prepare written reports.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals for students receiving speech-language services.
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy in individual and group settings.
- Participate in eligibility determinations and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Develop, monitor, and update speech-language goals within students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation, including therapy notes, progress reports, evaluations, and Medicaid billing documentation, as applicable.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other related service providers.
- Assist in identifying and implementing appropriate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when needed.
Salary: Following the established BTEA salary guide the minimum starting salary of BA Step 1 is $57,940.
