Job Details

We are seeking a hands-on AR/AP Lead to take full ownership of accounts receivable and payable operations within startup healthcare company.

You won't just be processing transactions, you'll be helping build the finance function from scratch, designing the processes, and owning them long term. As the company scales, this role has a clear path to management.


Responsibilities:

1. End-to-end AR operations: invoicing, cash application, collections, and payment receipt from office staff and external contacts with a white-glove customer service approach
2. Full-cycle AP: invoice processing, working with department heads on POs, approval workflows, vendor payments, and expense management
3. Vendor setup, payment terms, and issue resolution to keep supplier relationships healthy
4. AR/AP aging reports: proactively managing outstanding balances, tracking DSO and DPO metrics, and collections outreach
5. Building and documenting SOPs and internal controls where they don't yet exist
6. Month-end close including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
7. Cash flow visibility, monitoring the impact of receivables and payables and communicating clearly to leadership
8. Working within existing ERP (NetSuite or similar) with an eye toward process improvements and automation as the company grows

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of dual AR and AP experience — you must have owned both sides of the ledger
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience building processes, SOPs, or internal controls from scratch
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — you'll be interacting with department heads, vendors, and office staff regularly
  • Self-starter who can work independently and be trusted to get the job done without handholding
  • ERP experience required — NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar
  • Comfortable in a startup or scaling environment where not everything is built yet
