Kelso Industries is a rapidly growing group of operating companies serving the mechanical, electrical, and specialty services industries. Through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth, Kelso partners with strong operators to build and scale leading businesses while providing centralized support functions including finance, HR, and operational leadership.
Kelso is seeking a Regional Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments across assigned operating companies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, construction accounting experience, and the ability to manage a high volume of invoices while working collaboratively with operations, treasury, and accounting teams in a fast-growing environment.
Confirm vendor purchases are properly authorized through the purchase order system or by an authorized approver
Review and code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts
Perform accurate data entry and processing of approved accounts payable invoices
Ensure all invoices and supporting documentation are digitally stored within the ERP system
Process weekly check runs, including matching checks to supporting documentation and coordinating vendor payments once approved
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status, invoices, and account issues
Reconcile vendor statements and research or resolve discrepancies as needed
Work closely with the Treasury team to ensure timely and accurate payment processing
Maintain and update vendor master data files
Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
Support continuous improvement of AP processes and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum 3 years of construction industry accounting experience in an accounts payable or similar role
Familiarity with percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting preferred
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial processing
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
