AP/CP Surgical Pathologist

Position Type: Full-Time

Practice Setting: Hospital-based Practice

Subspecialty Focus: Surgical Pathology or a surgical subspecialty preferred but not required.

The Opportunity:

Our client, Pathology Consultants of Texas, is a physician-owned and physician-led pathology practice based in Fort Worth, Texas. The group currently consists of four full-time pathologists serving a diverse mix of hospital-based and outreach clients in and around the Fort Worth area.

We are conducting a search for an AP/CP Board Certified or Board Eligible Pathologist who is seeking a collegial, long-term practice opportunity with a well-established and highly respected group.

This opportunity is ideal for a pathologist who values professional ownership, collaboration, and continuous growth. The group is seeking someone who brings initiative, communicates well with colleagues and clinicians, and enjoys practicing in an environment where quality work and strong relationships go hand in hand.

The practice offers a strong balance between professional engagement and personal quality of life. Physicians are encouraged to work efficiently, support one another, and maintain a sustainable work-life balance.

About the Practice:

  • Approximately 11,000 surgical pathology and cytology cases annually
    • 5,000 from main hospital campus
    • 2,500 from smaller hospital campus
      • Routine surgical specimens
    • 2,000 from a surgery center
      • Mostly GI specimens
    • 1,500 from outpatients
      • Outpatient mix is GI, GYN, and Dermatology specimens
  • Annual Cytology Cases
    • Approximately 1,000 non-gyn cytologies; approximately 7,500 Pap smears annually

Position Highlights:

  • Shared call schedule:
    • One weekday night call per week
    • Weekend rotation shared among four pathologists
  • Broad case exposure with a collaborative physician team

Candidate Qualifications

  • AP/CP Board Certified
  • Licensed or eligible for Texas medical licensure prior to start
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or another surgical subspecialty preferred, but not required
