Position Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join a collaborative pathology practice dedicated to providing high-quality diagnostic services. This position offers the opportunity to practice a broad range of surgical and clinical pathology while working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

The ideal candidate is an experienced pathologist with strong diagnostic expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in both an independent and team-based practice. Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, interpret, and diagnose a wide variety of anatomic pathology specimens, including surgical pathology and cytology cases.
  • Provide expert pathology consultations and effectively communicate clinically significant findings to referring physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive pathology reports in accordance with established medical standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary care teams to support high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Manage a diverse pathology caseload while maintaining diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.
  • Exercise independent medical judgment in complex diagnostic cases while contributing to a collaborative pathology team.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance pathology services and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation and pathology reporting.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and remain current with advances in pathology and diagnostic techniques.
  • Foster a professional, collegial, and collaborative work environment.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP).
  • Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Strong diagnostic expertise in surgical pathology and clinical pathology.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered pathology services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two to four (2 4) years of experience in a pathology practice or comparable clinical setting.
  • Fellowship training in one or more surgical pathology subspecialties, including but not limited to:
    • Cytopathology
    • Breast Pathology
    • Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology
    • Gynecologic Pathology
    • Other relevant pathology subspecialties
  • Experience working in a diverse, high-volume pathology practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement, professional development, and evidence-based pathology practice.
