Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead a team of seven AP professionals during a critical period of transition and growth. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for AP operations, process improvements, internal controls, and team development within a large-scale distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• 
  
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7 Accounts Payable professionals
• 
  
• Monitor workload distribution and team coverage
• 
  
• Foster engagement, accountability, and strong team performance
• 
  
• Serve as the primary escalation point for AP-related issues
• 
  

Accounts Payable Operations

• 
  
• Oversee trade payable processes and daily AP operations
• 
  
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment activity
• 
  
• Partner with Procurement to resolve vendor and payment issues
• 
  
• Maintain compliance with company policies and financial controls
• 
  

Controls & Compliance

• 
  
• Strengthen internal controls and segregation of duties
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with audit and governance requirements
• 
  
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions
• 
  

Qualifications

Required:

• 
  
• Accounts Payable leadership experience managing a sizable team
• 
  
• Manufacturing, distribution, or large-volume operational environment experience
• 
  
• Strong background in AP operations and process improvement
• 
  
• Experience partnering with Procurement and Finance teams
• 
  
• Hands-on management style with willingness to dive into day-to-day operations
• 
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• 
  

Preferred:

• 
  
• AS400 experience
• 
  
• Oracle experience
• 
  
• Experience supporting large, multi-site organizations
• 
  
• Previous experience improving controls and documenting processes
•
