DescriptionThe Accounts Payable Specialist serves as an integral member of the Finance Team. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing the company's outgoing payments, ensuring invoices are accurate, approved, and paid on time while maintaining proper financial records. This position supports all PRA locations.Responsibilities (others may be assigned)COMMUNICATIONStrong communication skills for working with Project Managers and external consultantsProblem‑solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issuesCOLLABORATIONReview, verify, and process vendor and consultant invoices for accuracy and proper approvalEnsure timely payment of invoices in accordance with vendor terms and project budgetsCode invoices to the correct projects, phases, and general ledger accountsReview, code, and process corporate credit card transactions, ensuring accurate allocation to projects, phases, and appropriate expense accountsMaintain and reconcile vendor statements; investigate and resolve discrepanciesTrack multi‑state use tax and personal property tax recordsMaintain vendor files, including W‑9s, insurance and billing requirementsBackup for employee expense reports processingPreparing and entering bank depositsRequirementsHigh School diploma/GED with post high school education preferredMinimum of 3 years in an accounting department completing accounts payable responsibilitiesExcellent time management and prioritization skillsStrong understanding of project‑based accounting and job costingHigh attention to detail and accuracy in invoice coding and data entryAbility to manage high invoice volume and competing deadlinesExcellent organizational skillsAbility to modify communications based on the desired audience and styleProficiency in Microsoft products and ability to learn new software systemsListen actively, acknowledge and respond to feedbackDemonstrate a continuous learning mindsetExperience with Deltek products preferredEmbrace and demonstrate the PRA Core Values of Creativity, Collaboration and CommitmentPhysical RequirementsReasonable Accommodations may be made to allow individuals to complete essential job functions.
