Accounts Payable Specialist (Automotive Dealership Group)

A growing, multi-location automotive dealership group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its centralized accounting team. This role plays a key part in supporting dealership operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions for an assigned location.
This is a high-volume, full-cycle AP role where you will take ownership of the entire payables process for one dealership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable for an assigned dealership location
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness
- Obtain proper approvals and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Process payments including check runs and electronic payments (EFT/ACH)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to address invoice and payment issues
- Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and reporting support
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Follow established daily, weekly, and monthly processes
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of accounts payable experience in an automotive dealership environment (strongly preferred)
- Experience handling full-cycle AP responsibilities
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads in a deadline-driven setting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills with both internal teams and external vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Experience with dealership management systems such as Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK is a plus
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, onsite role based in Duluth, GA
- Standard business hours with a flexible start time window
- Participation in month-end close required, including:
- Higher workload during the first few days of each month
- Occasional overtime as needed
- One half-day Saturday per month
