A bit about us:

We are hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist for a well-known New Mexico construction and services company. This is a hands-on AP role supporting a busy accounting team and reporting directly to the Controller.

The right fit will have solid accounts payable experience, be comfortable managing invoice volume, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative accounting team. Construction or job-costing experience is helpful, but strong AP experience is the priority.

Job Details

• Process approximately 100 vendor invoices per week
• Review invoices for accuracy, coding and appropriate approvals
• Enter and maintain AP transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Code expenses to the appropriate accounts, jobs and cost categories
• Assist with vendor account maintenance and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding items
• Maintain organized AP documentation and supporting records
• Communicate with vendors and internal team members regarding invoices and payments
• Support the Controller and accounting team with additional AP and accounting needs

What We're Looking For

• Prior accounts payable experience
• Experience processing invoices in a fast-paced environment
• QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to stay organized while managing multiple invoices and priorities
• Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal departments
• Construction accounting or job-costing experience is a plus
• No specific degree or certification required
