Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is partnering with a growing client in Ferguson, MO to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This is a full-time, on-site, direct-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with hands-on experience supporting a product/inventory-based environment, including 3-way matching and purchase order (PO) processing.
The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the Finance Department by processing high-volume payables, maintaining accurate accounting records, and collaborating cross-functionally with Purchasing and Receiving to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Provide accounts payable support to the Finance Department through accurate processing of payables and maintenance of accounting documentation
2. Demonstrate sound accounting practices and recordkeeping in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
3. Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and required authorizations
4. Perform high-volume AP data entry, including invoice, PO, and payment information
5. Execute 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) for product and inventory purchases
6. Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments
7. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies
8. Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements and avoid late fees
9. Collaborate with Purchasing and Receiving teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and PO issues
10. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable
11. Maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners
12. Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and implement best practices
