Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Supervisor



  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, workload management, and performance support

  • Oversee high-volume invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and payment accuracy across multiple entities

  • Review invoice approvals, vendor maintenance, W-9 documentation, and 1099 reporting to ensure compliance

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor inquiries, payment issues, and accounts payable discrepancies

  • Monitor aging reports, AP metrics, utilities, rent schedules, and other departmental reporting

  • Partner with accounting leadership to strengthen internal controls and improve AP processes and efficiencies

  • Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and audit requests

  • Train, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable team members while promoting continuous improvement



Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Supervisor



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment

  • 2+ years of supervisory, lead, or management experience within Accounts Payable

  • Strong understanding of vendor management, reconciliations, W-9 administration, and 1099 processing

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and other reporting functions

  • Experience working in multi-entity or shared services environments preferred

  • Strong understanding of AP controls, workflow management, and process improvement

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
