AP012 - Nanny/Housekeeper - Greenwich, CT

Overview:

A warm family based in Greenwich, CT, is seeking an experienced and engaging Nanny/Housekeeper to support their household and 6-year-old daughter. The family is looking for someone who is seeking longevity and can become a trusted and valued part of their home.

Their daughter attends school until approximately 2:45pm, so the role will naturally divide between household responsibilities during the first part of the day and childcare in the afternoons. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced career nanny who is genuinely engaged with children and takes an active interest in their daughter’s education and development. The family would particularly value someone who can support homework, offer thoughtful guidance through age-appropriate social situations and be a positive and consistent influence in their daughter’s life.

The preferred schedule is approximately 10am–6pm, four weekdays and one weekend day, with flexibility for an occasional evening babysitting (Approximately once per week).

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive and engaging care for one 6-year-old child
• School pick-up and transportation to extracurricular activities and appointments
• Support with homework and encourage learning and age-appropriate independence
• Organize and supervise playdates and activities
• Provide thoughtful, age-appropriate support with social and emotional development
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks, including meal preparation during school hours for the evening
• Grocery shopping and household errands, including dry cleaning
• General tidying and household organization
• Assist with laundry, beds and general household upkeep as needed
• Work alongside the family's existing cleaning service, with the exact balance of housekeeping duties dependent on the candidate
• Prioritize childcare during school holidays as required, with household responsibilities adjusted accordingly
• Provide occasional evening babysitting
• Potentially accompany the family on occasional trips, if mutually agreeable

Qualifications:

• Strong professional nanny experience, ideally including school-aged children
• Genuinely engaged and interested in children's education and development
• Confident supporting homework and providing age-appropriate guidance
• Proactive, organized and able to manage a busy household and afternoon schedule
• Comfortable balancing childcare and household responsibilities
• Confident preparing simple, healthy family meals
• Mature, reliable and seeking a long-term position
• Strong communication skills and good judgment
• Spanish, French or another language would be a bonus, but is not required
• Comfortable working on a property with animals; the family lives on a farm with horses, chickens, dogs and other animals, although pets are not kept inside the home

Requirements:

• Legal to work in the US
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Strong, verifiable references
• Comfortable working one weekend day
• Flexibility for occasional evening babysitting
• Family vehicle provided for work-related driving 

Salary and Benefits:

The family is offering approximately $40/hour, depending on experience, with overtime paid as applicable.

Benefits to include paid vacation, sick leave and other industry-standard benefits. A healthcare stipend may also be considered.
