AP013 - Part-Time Housekeeper/Nanny - Manhattan

Overview:

A warm family relocating from London to the Upper West Side of Manhattan is seeking an experienced part-time Housekeeper/Nanny to support their household and three-year-old daughter. The family lives in a two-bedroom apartment, and their daughter attends school Monday through Friday until approximately 5:30pm. As such, the position will be primarily housekeeping-focused, with occasional childcare as needed. The family is looking for someone with genuine professional nanny experience who can confidently step into childcare as well as housekeeping duties. They are also looking for approximately two weekdays per week, ideally around 8 hours per day, and can offer flexibility around which days are worked for the right candidate. There will also be approximately 1–2 evenings of babysitting per month. Additional hours during school holidays may be available for a candidate who wants them, but this is not required.

Responsibilities:

• General cleaning and upkeep of the family's two-bedroom apartment
• Deep cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms and other areas as required
• Laundry, ironing and linen care
• Making and changing beds
• Household organisation and maintaining a tidy, well-run home
• Grocery shopping and keeping household essentials stocked
• Managing dry cleaning and occasional household errands
• Light food preparation and reheating meals as needed; no regular cooking required
• Occasional school pick-ups (approximately a six-minute walk from the home)

Qualifications:

• Strong professional housekeeping experience
• Genuine professional nanny/childcare experience, ideally with preschool-aged children
• Confident balancing housekeeping responsibilities with occasional sole-charge childcare
• Excellent laundry, ironing and household organisation skills
• Proactive and able to take ownership of the upkeep of a home
• Warm, trustworthy and comfortable becoming a consistent presence within a family household
• Flexible and happy to assist where needed

Requirements:

• Legally able to work in the US
• Excellent, verifiable references
• Able to commute reliably to the Upper West Side
• Driving is not required

Salary and Benefits:

The family is offering $45–$50 per hour, depending on experience.
