AP014 - Urgent Temp Caregiver - Midtown Manhattan

Overview:

A private client in Manhattan is seeking a kind, reliable, and experienced Temporary Carer/Companion to provide short-term support following knee surgery.

The position will begin Monday, October 12th and will be for approximately two weeks while the client recovers at home.

The client is looking for someone who can provide a combination of companionship, practical household support, and personal assistance during their recovery. The schedule will be for up to 6 hours per day, depending on the level of support required. The client will guarantee 6 hours of pay per day.

 

This is an urgent search, and candidates must be available to begin on Monday.

Responsibilities:

• Providing general support and companionship while the client recovers from knee surgery

• Preparing simple meals and snacks

• Laundry and changing bed linens

• Light household tasks and keeping the client's immediate living areas tidy and organized

• Assisting the client with day-to-day tasks while their mobility is limited

• Helping with washing, dressing, and personal care if required

• Ensuring essential items are easily accessible to the client

• Running occasional local errands or picking up groceries as needed

• Providing calm, attentive, and discreet companionship throughout the recovery period

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a carer, companion, personal care, or similar support role

• Experience supporting someone following surgery or during a period of reduced mobility is strongly preferred

• Kind, patient, attentive, and considerate

• Comfortable assisting with personal care if required

• Able to prepare simple meals

• Proactive and happy to assist with general household tasks

• Reliable, punctual, and an excellent communicator

Requirements:

• Legal to work in the US

• Able to commute reliably to Manhattan

• Available to start Monday, October 12th

• Available for approximately two weeks

• Excellent, verifiable references

• Comfortable providing hands-on personal assistance if required

Salary and Benefits:

$35–$40 per hour, depending on experience
