Akkodis is seeking an Apache Spark Core Java Developer for a Contract with a client in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data processing applications and analytical systems using Core Java, Apache Spark, and Python.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Apache Spark Core Java Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications and data processing solutions using Core Java and Python.

• Build, optimize, and support large-scale Apache Spark pipelines for processing and analyzing high-volume enterprise data.

• Develop backend services, APIs, and application components while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, database structures, and data integration processes to support business requirements.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and perform performance tuning of applications, distributed systems, and data processing environments running on Linux.

• Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and development teams to deliver analytical solutions, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers on best practices and technical standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.

• 7+ years of software development experience building enterprise-scale applications, analytical systems, and data-intensive solutions.

• Strong expertise in Core Java, Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and Linux, with hands-on experience developing scalable backend applications and distributed data processing systems.

• Proven experience designing, building, and integrating large-scale analytical platforms, APIs, and data pipelines, with strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $60.00 per hour
