Position Overview

Position: Apartment Maintenance Technician

Location: Madison, WI 53703

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall condition, functionality, and appearance of the community. Duties may include:

• Completing resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Performing preventative maintenance throughout the property
• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues
• Repairing doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and cabinetry
• Assisting with apartment turns and preparing vacant units for new residents
• Inspecting buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
• Ensuring community safety standards are maintained
• Assisting with painting, drywall repairs, and general carpentry tasks
• Supporting emergency maintenance needs when required
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and work orders

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance practices
• Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of maintenance issues
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
• Basic hand tools preferred
• EPA Certification is a plus, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, kneel, and work in confined spaces
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Dress Code

To maintain a professional appearance on property, employees are required to wear:

Khaki or Black Pants

Closed-Toe Work Shoes or Work Boots

Clean, Professional Work Attire
