Apartment maintenance technician

We are seeking a dependable and skilled professional to support the upkeep, safety, and overall appearance of a residential community. In this role, you will help ensure that homes, common areas, and building systems remain in excellent working condition through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and responsive service to residents and team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs across apartment units, common areas, and community facilities.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance, and general mechanical issues as assigned.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain safe and efficient property operations.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including repairs, inspections, and turnover work.
• Assist with maintaining building systems, tools, and equipment in proper working order.
• Document completed work, supply needs, and any recurring issues for follow-up.
• Support safety practices and help maintain compliance with property procedures and applicable regulations.
• Work collaboratively with property management and other team members to deliver a positive resident experience.
• Participate in on-call rotation or emergency response duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry tasks.
• Ability to diagnose issues, prioritize tasks, and complete work efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on property needs.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry tools, equipment, and materials as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with apartment turnovers and resident work orders.
• Knowledge of safety practices and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Certifications or technical training in maintenance-related fields.
• Experience using maintenance software or work order systems.
