APP - Cardiac Surgery

Opportunity:

Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Assist in cardiothoracic surgery procedures in inpatient OR setting
• 
  
• Work with Level 2 trauma center serving adult patient population
• 
  
• Schedule: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational call schedule at 1:4 ratio
• 
  
• Average patient volume of 4-8 patients per day
• 
  
• Work under physician supervision with physician present in OR
• 
  
• Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation
• 
  
• Perform central venous and dialysis catheter placement procedures
• 
  
• Conduct arterial line and intra-aortic balloon pump placement
• 
  
• Retrieve vascular tissue for bypass conduit and perform endoscopic retrieval
• 
  
• Insert chest tubes and perform thoracentesis procedures
• 
  
• Minimum 1 year cardiothoracic OR experience required
• 
  
• Robotic experience preferred but not required
• 
  
• Must maintain NCCPA board certification, BLS, and ACLS certifications
• 
  
• Michigan state license required prior to assignment
