Physician Assistant - Surgery Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
- Coverage needed 4 days per month, 7:00 AM 3:00 PM with call coverage 3:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Shifts include 8-hour day shifts with weeknight beeper call (14 hours) as well as 24-hour call shifts
- Work within a Cardiothoracic Surgery department in a hospital setting
- Support provided by supervising surgeon
- Manage 10 15 CVICU/step-down patients per day, plus 1 2 surgeries
- Patient population is adult and geriatric
- EMR system: Cerner
- Hospital bed size: 199
- Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Proficiency with Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH) is required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH required
- Board Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA) required
- Active or eligible Arizona PA license required
- DEA license required
- ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
